Selecting Aviation Art Lithographs For Collectors

By Jacob Biggs

Lithographic prints are reproductions of original works of art. The use of lithographs provides an opportunity for many people to enjoy the beauty of an art piece in the convenience of their home at an affordable price. The use of lithographs are extremely popular for aviation art by collectors.

The making of a lithographic print is complex and detailed. A print is made using separate passes on a lithographer's press which puts a layer of color on the print. A minimum of four colors are required to obtain a full color spectrum. And, when completed the lithograph is an exact replica of the original work of art.

Selecting the lithograph that will become most valuable from a collector's standpoint will depend on the category of print you select. An individual who is collecting a specific series of aviation art may find that the pieces in one category provide more options and potential added value than another category.

When you are looking for a collectors lithograph check the Certificate of Authenticity to make sure that it has been signed in graphite pencil by the author. The lithographic will be numbered if it is in one of the more collectible categories. Having a lithograph that has a higher number, from one to fifty, will provide you a faster gain on your investment.

There are seven types of lithographs that each will have a different collector's value. The Open Edition lithograph is does not have a limited number of printings and is not numbered. The certificate is signed by the artist and can have a dramatically increased value if it contains a Remarque. A Remarque is an original sketch in pencil, ink, or paint that has been done by the author. It will normally be an object that is related to the picture you are purchasing.

When a Limited Edition is selected it will contain a certificate showing the number of prints that have been made as well as the number of the lithograph that you are purchasing. There will be a limited number in the series and after the printing, the plates for the lithograph are destroyed so that the pieces retain and grow in value for the collectors that purchase them. The certificates are signed by the artist and there is normally information on where the original piece of art is located.

The Master Edition is signed and numbered just as the Limited Edition, but the details in the print have been enhanced by the artist. In some cases, the artist will add a unique feature to the print that will make it an original piece that cannot be duplicated.

When aviation art lithographs are made for veterans, they have the special designation of Veteran Edition. These prints are signed and are restricted to a specific group of veterans. These prints are also not reprinted after the designated number has been printed.

Diplomats and museums are often provided lithographs that are exact replicas of an original piece. These lithographs are printed on canvas and have very find details hand painted by the artist. The pieces are numbered and signed. When the Presidential Proof is printed there may only be a few in a series before the plates are destroyed. - 30452

Attributes Of A Good Corporate Photographer

By Tanya Phillips

All companies have an undeniable requirement for corporate photography, but looking for a good corporate photographer is quite a tough job. Corporate photography needs an entirely different set of skills that a lot of professional photographers in the market who are adept in other forms of photography may not possess.

Companies intending to hire a corporate photographer must focus on some key qualities and check the capabilities of the candidate to ensure that he can provide good output.

Versatility is an important quality that a corporate photographer must possess, so that he can handle multiple kinds of tasks and responsibilities like events coverage, ad photography, or clicking impressive photos of the company's products. A good corporate photographer must always be prepared to manage and do a good job at all these diverse tasks.

A corporate photographer covering an event will normally have no luxury of time to fix his angles or to do retakes, and thus he has to be alert for the whole time. There is always an air of unpredictability in corporate events, so any carelessness shown by the photographer will lead to shoddy coverage that will be unable to capture the event properly. Thus, a corporate photographer should have a sharp presence of mind and must always be aware of the happenings around him.

It is also very important for a corporate photographer to be able to extract the most of the resources provided to him. For example, in an indoor corporate event, he might have to do with insufficient light and handle the crowd. He must be able to deliver even in a setting that makes photography very tough.

Another important aspect that must be considered is the modus operandi and personality of the photographer. It is important for a corporate photographer not to be indifferent towards the company. A good photographer must be able to create a personal rapport with the staff, as they need to be comfortable when the photographs are being taken at official or informal events in the company. Besides, the photographer must not be unpleasant by character or a difficult person to work with.

You must check samples of prior work of the photographer, but do not be swayed by his market reputation. It is also essential to engage all the prospective candidates in personal interviews in order to evaluate how suitable their personalities are and ensure that they will fit your particular needs to perfection. - 30452

Tips On Getting Great Photographs At A Wedding

By Jason Kelly

One of the biggest jobs especially on a wedding day is of that of the photographer. Sure there are many big jobs and responsibilities but the photographer is one of the big ones. The major reason for this is basically because the photographer is the one person responsible for capturing the events of the day forever. It is his photographs that will capture the essence of that day. So in this article we are going to discuss and describe the ways in order to capture those best photographs.

First of all the first thing a wedding photographer needs to do is to know what pictures they are going to take. Just like in anything and in any event for that matter, the more prepared you are, the better.

Well it is the same thing for a wedding day. It is even more so on that day because it can get so hectic. Well if a photographer knows exactly what photos need to be taken, then it will surely help him ensure that he gets the best shots. That has been one of the keys to my success as a wedding photographer service.

The next thing a good photographer should do is to know the schedule of the day. As mentioned earlier a wedding day is hectic day. A photographer could carefully plan the photo shoots accordingly and well when he or she knows exactly what the plan for the day is. This has allowed me to have smooth photo sessions as a photographer.

Finally the photographer really needs to be really good at anticipating actions and things. This definitely only comes from experience. But if a photographer is experienced and can anticipate those key moments during a wedding they can get those shots. If a photographer isn't anticipating he or she could miss those key shots. This skill has served me well doing a portrait photographer service.

So as you can see, to be ready is absolutely the most important factor for a photographer. By being ready on a crazy day like a wedding day they will be sure to get great photo opportunities. - 30452

The Missing Ingredient - Photography Poses

By Veronica Carrillo

Planning a wedding on a budget is hard enough without having to pray that you have hired the right photographer. Being on a budget should not mean you need to sacrifice great pictures, the look of your wedding or the feel of the day. Budget wedding photography is possibly, along with budget wedding gowns and even reception halls. All you have to do is, know where to look and how to talk when you are trying to save yourself some money on the vendors you want to use.

Parts of your print can be made darker by burning-in or kept from darkening by dodging. This method is as old as photography itself and every photographer should be using it regardless of the printing system used.

Yes we are in the middle of a major kitchen remodel. Imagine taking your old semi-functional kitchen, stripping it down to the studs, knocking out a wall or two and then starting over. That is what we are immersed in these days. I decided a few weeks ago that I was going to be nothing but positive about the process no matter how painful it gets. So to that end I decided to start taking pictures everyday of the progress. Well almost everyday as there are days when no progress is made. It helps me keep my sense of humor and it has also given me a better perspective on the project that has allowed me to give my wife input on direction that might otherwise not been received too well if you know what I mean.

Be confident when you are asking for a discounted rate. Your posture and confidence level says a lot about you and just might be the winning factor for getting your budget wedding photography done at the price you can afford. Don't be willing to compromise with your style either. It's your day, and no one, including the venders should try to change your mind about what you want. You have been envisioning your wedding day since you were knee high to a grasshopper. Don't let anyone take your vision away from you.

The style you choose for your wedding pictures should not be a weighing factor in the price of them. For example, if you prefer to have an artistic style photography for your wedding, do not allow the photographer to talk you into traditional style photography in order for you to be able to have your budget wedding photography done.

Of course one could say that I am protecting myself against problems with the construction and you would be right on some level. But that is not truly why I am doing it. I really want to be able to assemble a full documentation of this process that I can look at down the road when we are fully enjoying our great new kitchen. - 30452

Professional Wedding Photographs For Dummies

By Barly S Scholer

Family and friends will spend a day at your wedding celebrating you; this does not mean that they have to work your wedding. It is hurtful to even ask and, if they offer, it can be hurtful when problems arise. You have too many things to think of as it is without worrying about the labor of your friend. Professional wedding photography is essential.

The quality of the photos is one of the things at stake. Professionals have professional equipment and training. A friend will never be as solid an option. And don't you want the best possible photos you can afford?

Photographers make this their life's work. They know all of the poses and tricks to make you look your best. Even an avid shutterbug can't grasp every detail like someone who was trained. The photographer will place you in poses and areas that will make you stand out as a couple, that will be original but not weird, lovable but not cliche.

Photographers also know what needs to happen and can often do a wedding collection from engagement to pre-wedding to post-reception. In this way, you can not only be reminded of wedding etiquette or tradition that may have slipped your mind, but you can also view how the photographer works with you long before the big day arrives. In larger cities, it is essential to have a professional if you want your wedding announcement in a reputable newspaper, since papers don't choose every announcement to print.

You must factor in distance, too. Do you want to work with a friend who has a long history with you and who is very invested in your actions and personality? Even if you have the best friendship in the world, a friend will never take criticism like a professional. Professionals care only about the quality of their work and their feelings will not be hurt as a friend's would. They can also cope much better if you decide not to use their services. Imagine rejecting a friend and then having them attend the wedding where someone else is working.

Professional photographers have friends, however. What do you do if you are a friend of a professional? They might offer their services in lieu of a gift. It is a tempting offer. But do you want them to be at your wedding to work or do you want them there to join in the celebration? Will it hurt their feelings to see all the other friends having a good time? And what package should you choose? The most expensive or least expensive? It is their labor, time, and supplies, but it's your big day. This is why getting a professional is best: you can get what you can afford and it's perfectly acceptable on both sides for you to do so.

And do you know that when you're under pressure you can be difficult to work with? A professional who is not your friend has seen it all and can let it all go at the end of the day. But if you can be infuriating when under duress, your friend may go to bed angry. Do you want to ruin your reputation as well as a friendship?

A final good note about professional wedding photography is that they can better arrange the final product for you into albums, frames, or collages. They can crop the photos and photoshop them so you look your best. - 30452
