Finding the Smallest Digital Camera

By Thomas Glover

Which model is actually the smallest digital camera? An easy question, with a difficult answer. Digital cameras are gradually getting smaller with each new generation, some of them down to dimensions that would have been completely impossible 15 years ago. Your next question might be "Are small digital cameras as viable as normal sized ones?" The easy answer is a yes. Ones that are around the same size as your forefinger and that can fit perfectly into the palm of your hand are as functional as standard sizes of digital camera.

Though small versions of today's digital cameras are not as good for professional photography, they are just as useful for your standard photos as their bigger camera alternatives. It is standard in all digital cameras to include flashing, focus, and zoom. Though best part is that they are not as expensive as larger versions. But there is indeed a reason for that.

Many of the smallest digital cameras don't have a lot of built-in space to keep pictures, and due to the fact that they are so tiny, chances are you will have to purchase a Micro SD card. These are getting more inexpensive by the month it seems like, so this is not a big issue. What is an issue is that many small digital cameras do not have a built-in screen for you to view the pictures that you have taken. This has become a common feature for any normal-sized models so it may be difficult to get used to. Not being able to look and see if a photo is just right can end in some not-so-great pictures.

Additionally, many models also do not have the ability to record movies, which is another familiar feature that has come to be standard in digital cameras. This is one thing that really convinces consumers not to buy many of the smallest digital camera, but if you are not worried about with recording videos then it should be not be a big set back.

In actuality, these types of cameras are almost a novelty. They are quite cute, and it is amazing that something that is so small can actually take quality pictures. However, they tend to get lost easily and some of the discounted ones on retailer's shelves can cease to work if dropped a couple of times. They are to be handled with great care. Losing all of the photos you have taken on a digital camera can be frustrating, if not extremely upsetting.

At the heart, the smallest digital camera is definitely an inexpensive choice opposed your standard-sized, multifunctional version model. They are fantastic if you are looking for a camera to carry to take on the road or to give to a family member or friend. So they are handy gadgets, but if you are actually serious about taking pictures then it is probably be best to seek out a different type. - 30452
