How to Merge Two or More Images in Photoshop

Today most web designers, magazines, and newspapers are making collages or merged images by combining multiple photographs. Wouldn't it be great if you could do that, too?

With Adobe Photoshop, you can. Photoshop has all that you need to create some amazing digital collages from many different photos. In fact, Photoshop is the choice of professionals when it comes to editing and manipulating digital photography.

More and more, merging two or more images into one image is becoming the standard in the graphics industry. Examples are everywhere. Learning to merge images yourself will benefit you if you are a web designer, a graphic artist, or a photographer. You will definitely benefit from learning how to merge photographs.

Spending time planning your final image is an important step before you actually begin working on the merging of the photos. How do you want your final project to look? It is important to do the planning and laying out of your image before you begin using Photoshop.

When planning a photo collage image, you will want to consider several things.

Or maybe it is the color scheme of the photographs that will help them to merge. Photoshop has an "eyedropper" which will check colors and look for complimentary colors.

After you have decided which photos you are gong to use, you will need to think about the composition. Browsing the Internet to find some examples of digital collages that you really like is a good way to start. Really look at them. What about the image really attracts you? Is the message intended by the advertiser or artist relayed? Consider the composition. What is it that makes the images blend together so well?
