Great Community For Illustrators, Graphic Designers Or Photographers

By Laurance Campbell

As a freelance illustrator, I have often sat at my desk thinking, which site shall I join ?, which one is better value for money ?, are the free sites worth bothering with ?. Over time I learned to spot the good from the bad from trial and error, but hopefully with some reviews I will be doing from various sites, I might be able to steer you in the right direction.

PNW (Premium Network Worldwide) is currently the most affordable creative site of it's kind which offers quite a lot for a fraction of the price of it's competitors.

PNW is very unique because it is very easy to upload images and manage your portfolio, with a simple drag & drop type feature to help you to put things in a specific order. They are also taking the limit off the number of portfolios you can add to your profile, so you will be able to add work continually which is great.

The one thing that really took me by surprise was the great services that they offer, which there competitors have not even dreamed of yet. Once your portfolio is set up, the on-line team will actually take the time to send out emails to there large client base on your behalf, with a thumbnail link to your profile. I think this is done periodically, every 3-4 months, so that takes the pressure off a little for me. I have in the past spent hours upon hours sending out emails to companies over the net trying to get myself noticed. However, what really got me the most was the fact that they actually take the time to write articles about you and post them out over the internet to anywhere between 500-1000 article directories. I checked out the results of one of their artists 'Andre Junget' and saw there hand written articles show up 8 times on page one, which means these are serious about promoting there artists!! (all for the price of a Big Mac meal in the UK, 5).

The email shots are sent out periodically to many high profile clients, with a thumbnail image of your work and a link back to your profile. Not bad for 5 ($9) a month!!. I am actually a freelance illustrator and I have had the misfortune of joining a number of high profile portfolio sites which did not offer any of these marketing services, for 8 times the price!!!.

Of course you get the usual video uploads etc, but if your looking for an extra income you can sell your art from your profile page. Or if your are a Twitter fan you can link your activity to your profile for people to be updated. RSS feeds can also be displayed.

If you like to keep people informed about your career or random thoughts, you can post blogs from your profile.

To be honest, this is one of the more useful sites out there if you want to get something for your money. So if you did not quite understand what I have been saying in this article, then feel free to check it out and give us your thoughts. - 30452
